I am a native of Romania. For many years I have come to the United States to visit my son and daughter, both of whom are successful professionals in the computer industry.
My husband passed away five years ago and since there were no other close relatives living in Romania, my children tried hard to find a way to have me live close to them which would make me happy for the rest of my life. I am glad to say that they succeded and now I am living here permanently.
I earned a graduate degree in Applied Art in my days as a student. However with children to raise and a job to hold down, I found no time for artistic activities. I always missed being able to pursue my passion for art and hoped that late in life there would come a time when I would be able to open my almost forgotten treasure box of feelings and sensitivity, and express myself as an artist. It was such a pleasure to discover the beautiful colors of today, the wonderful paper available now and the magic thrill of painting process which connects together in one expression the mind, the soul, the hand and the palette.
For me is the beginning of a long journey, and I am looking forward to all of the excitment, discoveries, surprises and disapointments and most of all - hard work. It is a journey of intense learning about life and the world around. At the same time it is a journey of learning more about me. What a joy!
It is hard to predict what next year will bring to me. What I surely know is that I will continue to paint, discover, learn and grow. I strive to express my spirit, my feelings through lines, shapes, color and texture, all orchestrated in imagery full of drama and ambiguity.
Since I started painting, my work were shown locally on many Mercer Island venues. In 2009 I exhibited at Edmonds Art Festival, Alaska-Yukon -Pacific Exposition Centennial Exhibition and Art for the Cure"Passionately Pink" at C Gallery in Seattle.
